Fenerbahçe University (FBU)
Fenerbahçe University (FBU) is a private university located in the Ataşehir district of Istanbul, Turkey. It was officially founded in 2016 by the Fenerbahçe Education, Culture, and Health Foundation, which is affiliated with the Fenerbahçe Sports Club. The campus is urban and modern, situated near major transportation links, making it accessible and well-integrated into Istanbul’s city life.
FBU offers education in both Turkish and English, across 7 faculties and a vocational school, covering 33 undergraduate programs and 15 associate-degree programs. It also has a Graduate Education Institute with master’s and doctoral programs. The university emphasizes a holistic, globally-aware education, aiming to produce graduates who are not only technically skilled but culturally competent and socially responsible.
The institution places a strong emphasis on research and innovation. It has multiple centers for applied research, including Cyber Space Studies, Innovation & Technology, European Studies, and Sports Research. By partnering with Medicana Medical Group and Fenerbahçe Sports Club, FBU offers practical training, internships, and research opportunities, particularly in health sciences and sports.
FBU also aims for internationalization: its International Office supports student exchange via Erasmus+ and other programs. The university sees itself as a growing global institution, combining high-quality academics with social engagement and sporting heritage.
